Overview
Plymouth's original character hotel, a treasure in the heart of Devon's city-by-the sea.
Tower and turret, ballroom, oak panels, elaborate ceiling roses, sea views and cityscape. We have 72 rooms and suites, each with a unique view.
Built during the Golden Age of steam, the Duke of Cornwall was Plymouth's first luxury hotel and provides first class accommodation today.
With peerless conference facilities and licensed to celebrate weddings and civil partnerships in our stunning function rooms, the Duke of Cornwall is minutes from national and international rail, air and sea connections.
It's the perfect embarkation point for a voyage into England's beautiful South West, not forgetting Plymouth's excellent Theatre Royal just around the corner and for dinner, we have a 2 RAC Blue Ribbons and AA Rosette award winning Restaurant.
Whatever the occasion for your visit, your booking guarantees our unreserved welcome.
Each of our seventy two en-suite rooms and suites is unique, but all provide a singular amount of space. We hope that you'll be impressed by the generous proportion of our accommodation. Our rooms are beautifully packaged, but they won't box you in.
Each bedroom is serviced with free broadband internet access, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, trouser press and direct-dial phone. Our helpful staff are on call to provide you with anything else you need.
Still a privately owned hotel, Jon Morcom and Walter Combstock have been the Duke of Cornwall's proprietors for several years and pride themselves on not only a simply excellent hotel but also as award winning employers.
