Hotel Istanbul Hotel Ipek Palas is a special class hotel which is located in the old city and you can reach the historical places like Hagia Sophia Museum, Sultan Ahmet Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace and Hippodrome within a few minutes walking distance. Ipek Palas Hotel Istanbul was built as a hotel with Ottoman architechture in 1889 and witnessed a political history like Ottoman and Republic times with its capacity boosted in 1948.

Our hotel has 79 rooms, 61 of which are standard (decorated as Ottoman architect) and 11 of which are suite, and 7 of which are concept rooms (decorated as symbol of Turkish civilization)

Getting There
Arriving in Istanbul and getting to the Hotel Ipek Palas Hotel

The main airport for Istanbul is the Ataturk International Airport, which is located about 16 kms away from the hotel.
Hotel is located at the west part of the city, on the European side of Istanbul. You can see some options to arrive to the hotel. While at the airport it is a good idea to pick up some Turkish Liras from one of the ATMs located in the Arrivals Terminal. It is also a good idea to learn what the exchange rate is ahead of time so that you will know how much you are paying, for example, for transportation.
From Ataturk International Airport

Option 1: Taxi ~ When you step outside the airport, airport taxis, with orange color, are readily available outside the terminal building. .Go to the front of the line and a man willdirect you into one of the taxis. And it coasts around 30-35TL which is around 15€-20€, the rate will be 50% higher if you need one between 24:00 and 6:00. This price is per trip, not per person (a taxi can usually take up to 4 people). You will need to pay in Turkish Lira so be sure to have some on hand. The ride will take about 30-60 minutes, depending on traffic. From the airport, take Yesilköy direction and after about 3 kilometers, follow Sirkeci direction. Drive 16-18 kilometers straight and turn left from the traffic lights where you will see sign for Sultanahmet. Follow signs for Sultanahmet. When you come to Sultanahmet Square turn right and go down the hil, from Gulhane tram stop take the left, go on following and take the right from 4th corner. Option 2: Hotel Ipek Palas Shuttle ~ You can reserve with the hotel ahead of time to have a car waiting for you at the airport when you arrive. The cost is about 30 €uro, and this is for up to 3 people. You will need to pay for the car when you reach the hotel.(This offer is valid only for International Ataturk Airport, only one way and if the guest make reservation directly from the hotel website).If you would like to be picked up from the airport, pleas, email the hotel or fax your request along with your Istanbul flight arrival details and be sure to ask for a confirmation from the hotel. Then, as you leave the Arrivals Terminal secure customs area you'll see an employee from a transfer agency in the crowd outside the doors holding a sign with your name and the hotel's name (you might have to look around because it can be quite crowded). The driver will drive you to the hotel.

Option 3: Public Transportation ~The public-transportation connection to Old Town is the least expensive way (about 4.00 TL total), To use this method, exit the Arrivals Terminal secure customs area into the concourse, turn right, and look for signs to the "Hafif Metro - Light Rail System". Follow the signage down the escalator to the underground passage that will lead you to the Light Rail Station. There you will need to purchase two tokens (jetons) from the ticket booth, one for the Light Rail and one for the tram later. [NOTE: Any time you change between the Light Rail, tram, subway, or funicular systems you'll need to pay 2.00TL]. A Light Rail Train leaves for downtown Istanbul every 5 to 15 minutes from the airport (runs 6:00-24:00). Ride it till at ZEYTINBURNU station and pass the kabatas tramline. Remember that you will need your other token now for the tram. Take the tram till the Sirkeci (the recorded station announcement says "Sir-ke-ci" ). Upon exiting the tram walk up the tramline, follow it and then take your first right. Go just one more block to the hotel will be just up the corner on the left side.
