Drawing inspiration from ancient Kandyan architectural concepts and motifs, the 100 rooms housed at this four star hotel offers stunning views of the forest-covered hills of Heerasasagala and the scenic valleys beyond.

From floor to ceiling, every room brings aspects of Kandyan culture closer to guests, reflecting a unique take on modernistic luxury interspersed with the local culture of the hill country. Rooms are accented by heavy wooden carvings - a characteristic trait among ancient Sri Lankan artisans.

The painted symbols of the sun and moon that adorn the walls were considered as benefic symbols. A recurrent thematic element that is featured in each room are the colours of brick red, dark yellow and black that have been tastefully incorporated in even the smallest detail.

Rooms and suites are spread across three wings. The junior suites include spacious bedrooms, a lounge area and a private balcony where guests can enjoy an intimate setting against the backdrop of the descending sun. The suites situated on the Uthara Prasad wing could be accessed from the lobby or from the pool area via a stone -built staircase with natural borders.

Our Ayurvedic therapists offer tailor-made treatments, with techniques and herbal ingredients specifically chosen to meet each person's body type and lifestyle. Amaya Hills offers a team of male and female spa therapists trained and led by our certified Ayurvedic specialist.

The Ayurvedic centre is popular among guests for its complete Herbal Body Treatment - a combination of three Ayurvedic treatments: herbal oil body massage, herbal steam and herbal bath. These and other body treatments can be booked individually or enjoyed as part of our Wellness Programme, lasting from 3-21 days.

Business Facilities
Meetings are more memorable at Amaya Hills where our staff will work with you at every step to deliver the experience worthy of the Hill country’s 4 star hotel. The setting could not be more idyllic with panoramic views of the forest covered hills of Heerassagala. Our 4,700 sq.ft conference hall is adequately equipped to seat 400 people comfortable. The conference hall has a separate entrance and parking facility.

In addition, two committee rooms which can accommodate between 30 to 40 guests are also available for use. What differentiates Amaya Hills from other resorts is the warm staff that is willing to accommodate personal requests so that every meeting or conference runs smoothly. The hotel also offers options of converting rooms and dining facilities into private venues.

Getting There
For guests travelling to Kandy upon arrival to the country will begin their journey from the Bandaranayake International Airport (BIA) also known as Katunayake International Airport- the country’s only international airport at the moment.

Katunayake is 35km North of Colombo. The distance from Katunayake directly to Kandy is approximately 82km and the journey should take approximately about an hour and 45 minutes in order for tourists to reach the hill capital.
