The Townhouse Hotel is located in the heart of South Africa’s Mother City of Cape Town on a site just off the original Dutch East India Company Gardens, vital provisioning centre and watering place for ships entering the bay from the mid 1600’s, when the settlements now- reclaimed shoreline was but a few hundred meters from the hotel’s front entrance.
Set in a tranquil corner of what is today the uptown commercial district, in the heart of the city, the hotel overlooks Mostert Square, with the original Slave Lodge and Cultural History museum),the Groote Kerk, St Georges Cathedral, oak-lined Government Avenue and Parliamentary complex just beyond.

A favourite stay-over in the city for decades, the Hotel has retained its essentially intimate character. The hotel’s well-established dining tradition continues at our newest addition to the hotel, the beautiful Trees restaurant, offering a delightful breakfast with views of the city during the day, and an intimate fireside setting for gourmet dinners from executive chef Stefan, who delights with an exciting classic and fusion menu of local flavours and vintages from our cellars. Casual refreshment, light meals snacks coffee, patisserie and cocktails are also served in our trendy Lounge just off the hotel entrance – a popular meeting place for local and visiting guests.
The hotel also boasts one of the city’s top conference and functions venues, located on 2 spacious floors just off the hotel, with convenient on-site parking. Multi-functional and fully catered, it offers state-of-the-art facilities and modular venues that can accommodate events from conferences and wedding banquets to small business meetings.

Just 5 minutes from airport, major city sights, such as The V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, the souvenir shopping meccas of Greenmarket square and the nightlife of Long street, the hotel is also centrally located for Cape excursions including Cape Peninsula round trips that takes in the sights of a two-ocean seaboard, or a visit to some of the 200 estates of the famous Cape Winelands, further afield.

The Hotel offers in-room WIFI Wireless internet access and secure undercover parking to all guests at a minimal charge. Wi-Fi hotspots are located in selected hotel areas. All major credit cards are accepted. The Townhouse Conference Centre is one of the city’s newest and most sought-after business and function venues thanks to its ideally central location in the uptown commercial district, within walking distance of the parliamentary complex and just 15 minutes from airport.

Set on 2 spacious levels, it offers a range of highly flexible, modular venues that can be equipped for a variety of needs - from large cinema-style presentations accommodating up to 250 people, to product launches, ‘sit-down’ functions and banquets, as well as smaller meetings or ‘break-away’ sessions. State-of-the-art technical facilities allow venues to be customised with the latest presentation, audio-visual and conferencing equipment. Fully catered, the centre offers a range of menus for working breakfasts, light finger lunches, cocktails and formal banqueting functions.

Getting There
Directions: Directions from Cape Town Airport to the Townhouse Hotel & Conference Centre - Total distance 20km. Take the N2 from the airport direct to Cape Town. After 14km keep left on the N2 (the sign indicates 'De Waal Drive / City via M3'. Do not follow the 'Foreshore / Eastern Boulevard' signs. After 3.5km take the City via Roeland Street turn-off (Not Mill Street). At the 4th set of traffic lights (T-Junction) turn right in to Plein Street. Right into Barrack Street (2nd right). Left into Corporation Street (1st left). The hotel is on your left at the end of the block.
