Overview
Welcome to our friendly new luxury lodge and cottages just 200m from the shores of Lake Wanaka. Peacefully located overlooking parkland, the accommodation is within walking distance of Wanaka’s vibrant township and is also well positioned for lakefront walking tracks, ski field, and National Park access. Wanaka Homestead opened in 2003 and has since won awards for its environmentally-friendly buildings, offering affordable luxury and a choice of accommodation types suitable for couples and families alike.
LUXURY LODGE.
The homestead lodge is a purpose built ski lodge with five en-suited bedrooms and extremely comfortable twin, super-king or huge California king beds. Gourmet breakfast is served by the log fire, exposed beams and sumptuous sofas in the guest lounge.
COTTAGES. Alternatively, our charming new cottages are family friendly and offer self-contained and serviced “home from home” style accommodation with real warmth and character. Each cottage has a well appointed kitchen, a lounge with French doors opening onto a grassy courtyard, a dining area, two bathrooms, underfloor heating, CD/DVD/Sky and comfortable new king or twin beds. The two bedroom stone “cottage” and three bedroom timber “barn” comfortably accommodate 4 and 7 people respectively, and are sometimes also available as a one bedroom option.
All guests enjoy complementary facilities, such as under-the-stars hot tub, ski store - drying room, a broadband Internet Station, wireless hot spot Internet, mountain bikes, laundry & even powder.

Outside dial telephones, wireless Internet network FREE OF CHARGE, free broadband Internet station, fax. For mini-conferences and courses, please book all 5 lodge rooms and the Homestead Lodge is entirely yours, you could then also use the large plasma screen with PC input, for your presentations.
Getting There
Transport. Air New Zealand fly from Christchurch to Wanaka daily. Shuttle buses run daily from Christchurch (6 hours), Dunedin (4 hours) and Queenstown (1 hour via Queenstown airport). The local Wanaka Connexions (schedule see wanakaconnextions.co.nz) shuttle bus will greet you at Wanaka, Queenstown, Christchurch & Dunedin airports and provide a ‘door to door’ service.
Directions - When you arrive in Wanaka from Christchurch, the West Coast, Cromwell or Dunedin - stay on the main road keeping the lake on your right-hand side. You will see Wanaka Homestead on the the right-hand side, exactly 1.5km after the town centre and log-cabin information centre.
If arriving from Queenstown via the Crown Range (Cardrona Valley Road), the road will end at a T junction with Lake Wanaka directly in front of you. Turn left at the T junction and proceed for 900 metres. Wanaka Homestead is on the right-hand side.
