Overview
5-star guest and hosted, enviro-mark gold, the Summit Lodge is en-route between Wellington and Napier. Set in 10 acres and surrounded by farmland guests enjoy quiet and relaxation.


Purpose-built with three super king/twin rooms (each with ensuite and individual heating/ cooling) and guest lounge with home theatre system and wood fire in winter. (Hosts live in separate wing of the lodge). Breakfast included in tariff as is range of teas and coffee and home baking. Microwave and bar fridge available for guest use.

If you want guaranteed privacy, book the wing for your exclusive use (up to 6 people, twin/dbl share). BBQ/celebration dinners can be arranged with your own on-site cooks (additional charge).

3-couse dinner party style evening meals available on request with minimum 24 hr notice at $60pp,($85 incl wine) or informal platter for two at $40. Slow cooking and seasonal local produce (much grown on-site), home baking and home-made preserves.

Private patio areas as well as large, sheltered courtyard with 8-seater spa pool (available summer months only). Spray-free vegetables, free range chickens and friendly alpaca herd on-site for feeding and photographs.

In the area - wineries, farms and stunning scenery, Stone Henge Aotearoa, working wheelwright (next door), gardens of national significance, several day walks, golf, Hood Aerodrome, Mt Bruce wildlife reserve (home of the white Kiwi bird).

The Summit Lodge is 1.5hrs drive from Wellington and there is a Wairarapa train service available between Wellington and Carterton, the nearest service town to the Lodge.

Approx 20 mins drive to Masterton, 15 mins to Cartertonn and 25 to centre of Martinborough. Local Gladstone wineries very close.

Driving
From Carterton turn at the roundabout into Park Road and proceed for just under 4km, at the T junction, turn left into Carters Line and drive a further 3km then turn right into Gladstone Road and drive 8km (past the Gladstone and Fairmont wineries, then the Gladstone Inn) and at the T junction (with the Wheelwrights Shop opposite) turn left into Martinborough-Masterton Road then turn right into Admiral Road 300 meters on. The Summit Lodge is on your right-hand side.

Rail
There is a daily rail service from Wellington to the Wairarapa which offers stunning scenery. We can organise pick up (and drop off) from Carterton train station.
