Arrive up a winding tree lined driveway to afternoon tea and home baking, drop off the luggage before exploring. Watch out for quail, native birds, Rosco the puppy and Barny the cat.
Unwind and relax, you are encouraged to make yourself at home here. Enjoy the spacious lounge with 58inch plasma TV great for sports fans. Read a book in front of the fire in our classically furnished red sitting room, join us for evening drinks to share experiences and travel stories.
Full breakfast includes healthy home baked bread, freshly ground coffee and freshly made fruit salad. Discuss your sightseeing plans with Lyn and Richard while enjoying a scrumptious breakfast, use their 40 + years of local knowledge to plan the day ahead.
Taupo provides international quality dining for all tastes and budgets please ask if you wish a restaurant booked in advance.
Laundry facilities are available on request at a small charge.
Energy conservation and sustainability were a priority when Richard and Lyn designed and built Richlyn 20 years ago. A low emission furnace fired with wood grown on site supplies all heating and hot water. Walls and roof are insulated with highest rated materials then available. Rain water irrigates the gardens, three fountains and waterfall. A worm-farm, puppy, cat and local birdlife deal with food scraps.

The Central North Island of New Zealand encompasses Rotorua 1 hr away, Napier 1.5 hrs, Tongariro National Park 1 hr, Waitomo Glow worm caves 1.5 hrs and a myriad of natural features within 20 minutes drive of Richlyn. They can all be enjoyed in day trips from Richlyn Park.

It is truly the ideal place to unpack once and relax for a few days.

Getting There
By car or Taxi: From the Taupo bypass road at the SH5 roundabout, turn towards Napier, drive 3.5km turn Right into Caroline Drive Bonshaw Park, travel 2km then turn Left into Mark Wynd, Richlyn is the first driveway on the Left.

When travelling from Taupo township or the bus depot, drive South along Lake Tce for 2.6km, turn Left into Napier Rd just past the Mobil service station, go 2.2km then straight through the roundabout, 3.5km to Bonshaw Park turn right onto Caroline Dr, 2km to Mark Wynd, turn left, first drive on left.

When travelling from Wellington and the Taupo airport. SH5 roundabout is 5.3km along the bypass. Turn right, head for Napier, after 3.5km turn right into Caroline Dr, just past Mountain Rd. 2km to Mark Wynd turn left, first driveway on left is Richlyn
From Auckland and Rotorua the SH5 roundabout is 9.8km along the bypass.

There is no train or bus service to Bonshaw Park.

Safe off street parking, covered area available on request, space for boat, caravan, campervan. Long term vehicle storage also available at small charge.
