Punakaiki is tucked into the northern end of Punakaiki beach, just 50 meters from the high tide mark, and 300 meters south of the famous Pancake Rocks and Blowholes. Few places in the world can offer such comfort so close to the wild action.

The Resort has been carefully designed to blend into its natural setting and capture the essence of its beauty. A fan shaped lounge overlooks a natural wetland and from the dining room you can watch the changing moods of the untamed Tasman Sea, for hours until the sun sinks into the horizon.

Designed in harmony with the local environment, our rooms are cleverly staggered for the best view, while maintaining privacy from one another. Elevated walkways wind over luxuriant plantings to access many rooms.

Getting There
Punakaiki Resort is located 43KM north of Greymouth and 57KM South of Westport. When you get to Punakaiki, we are easy to find.

Coming from the north, we are on the right hand side of the road, about 300 metres South of the Pancake Rocks & Blowholes track.

Coming from the south, the entrance to the hotel is on the left hand side of the road, about 400 metres north of the bridge that crosses the Punakaiki river.
