Overview
Poets Corner Lodge is a purpose built Boutique Lodge accommodation situated 6km from the gold mining town of Waihi. The lodge is surrounded by Orokawa Reserve and has expansive coastal views from Mayor Island to Mt. Maunganui.

The lodge is in a rural setting, wake to the sound of the native birds and the surf rolling in at the bay. The lodge is separate from the house so privacy is assured. We have 4 rooms with super king beds, which can be twin - each with their own ensuite with shower, heated towel rails & hairdryers. All rooms have under floor heating.

There is a large shared lounge with big comfy leather lounge suite for you to relax in or meet the other guests. Or simply watch Sky TV, DVD or read a book in front of the log fire.

If you wish to self cater, there is a shared large fully equipped kitchen with microwave, gas hob, electric oven, large fridge, toaster, bread maker etc with a dining table that seats 8.

Other facilities includes, spa pool, internet access, SKY TV, guest decks/outdoor furniture, BBQ, laundry with drying cupboard, off street parking, private guest entrance, DVD library, books & magazines, transport is available, wheel chair friendly. Children are welcome as long as it is a one party booking and whole of lodge is rented ie all 4 rooms

Have breakfast on the sunny outside terrace. Gourmet breakfast is cooked for guests at the lodge. There is always fresh fruit and NZ cheeses complimentary, as is Marg's home baking. Dine with your hosts or eat at one of the many local restaurants in Waihi or at Waihi beach or self cater, if whole of lodge is rented. Dinner at Poets Corner is by arrangement at $75 pp There is transport available to take guests to restaurants, golf club or to walks.

Our lodge is eco friendly. We have a recycling rubbish system, composting, solar heated hot water and an environmentally friendly septic tank. We collect the rain water. There is an option for guests to add to our native tree planting project.
We have planted over 3000 native trees and shrubs. Guests are invited to participate in this project, if they wish

Getting There
From Auckland: Take the motor way south towards Hamilton. Turn off onto State Highway 2, just after Bombay. Stay on SH2, passing Maramarua, Ngatea,Paeroa, to Waihi. At Waihi take the Whangamata road out of town and just past the rugby ground and net ball courts you will see an old blue dairy, which is now closed. Just past that on your right is Barry Road. Take Barry road for 3 kms to a T junction. Turn right into Trig road and 1 km on you will see Heard road going up the hill off a right hand bend. Come up Heard road 2 kms and Poets Corner Road is on your left. Come to the end and at the round about you will see the lodge ahead of you. Come on up and we will be waiting to greet you.
