Kauri Nest B & B opened in April 2011.
This beautiful early 1900's Historic Homestead has a 92 year history set in half acre of grounds, glorious mix of native bush and 100 yr old Kauri next to house. Kauri Nest was owned by well known History writer Florence Keene from 70’s to 2000
You will be surprised with the feeling of being in a lovely spacious villa in the countryside; yet you can walk 7 -10 minutes along & over the Hatea River past the marina to the town basin with its 5 cafes, art galleries, clock museum, park and shops, from there only 3-5 minutes to CBD and shopping centres, movie theatre complex, banks . P O., etc.
Kauri Nest is on the road to airport (7 min drive), Whangarei Heads, Parua Bay a golf course, Abby caves and many other attractions only minutes away.

Here you enjoy a warm, stylish and functional stay. The formal lounge and dining areas have a great flow with the dining area leading out onto the deck surrounded by glass balustrade so as not to inhibit your amazing views over the town basin and beyond.

The lounge is enhanced by the period fireplace, polished hard wood flooring, feature ceiling and large view filled original windows. The kitchen is a complimentary mix of new and old and is well appointed with quality appliances. A further living area is next to kitchen.

Florence Ensuite room has a superb ensuite bathroom complete with double shower and bidet. With a lovely bush view .

We have wireless internet .Kauri Nest would be an ideal venue for small business meetings very close to CBD , on road to airport & there’s 2 living areas with a further formal dining room off formal lounge , which flows onto large outside deck.

Getting There
By car /taxi Riverside Drive around 100 metres along from Kingsgate Hotel & Punga Grove Rd

Bus station is very handy on the town basin on other side of River from Kauri Nest just walk across the Road over Hatea river and along Riverside Drive , Kauri Nest is around 100 metres along from Kingsgate Hotel & Punga Grove Rd and up long driveway we may be able to collect you from Bus station , we will need a few hours notice , and another text /call just before bus gets into bus station
