Overview
Relax in the warmth and tranquility of our romantic 1930's Heritage home. Cheltenham House is situated on extensive grounds, just 200 metres from the award winning Thermal Pools complex, forest walks, restaurants and shops in this picturesque alpine resort.
We renovated this gracious home with our guests' comfort paramount. There are four spacious, sunny, well appointed suites in the house and two suites situated in the garden. All are centrally heated and provide our guests with comfortable seating and dining areas, robes, quality bedding, fridge, television, and tea & coffee making facilities.
An open fire enhances the atmosphere in the billiard room, where we share a local wine with our guests in the evening.
In the morning, awake to an delicious cooked breakfast served in the privacy of your own suite. Star gaze from the outdoor spa pool.
Some pets are allowed in the garden suites by prior arrangement. Please contact before booking.

Getting There
Travelling from Christchurch:
This takes approx 1 3/4 quarter hours. Take Highway 1 to Waipara. Turn left on to Highway 7 to Hanmer Springs turn off. Travel 9kms on Highway 7a into the village. Turn right into Cheltenham Street. We are the third property on the right.
From the West Coast:
Travel through Lewis Pass to the turn off. Travel from Greymouth is approx 3 hours, 5 hours from the Glaciers, 4 hours from Nelson.
From Kaikoura, travel on Highway 70 onto Highway 7 to the turnoff. Travel time approx 2 hours.
Buses travel daily to Hanmer Springs from Christchurch, Nelson and the West Coast.
