QUALMARK RATING 5 Stars..We have 4 luxury ensuite units, each with its own entrance, all on the ground floor and are air-conditioned. One unit has wheel chair access, its bathroom comprises of a shower, toilet and hand basin and heater. The bathrooms of the other three units have shower, bidet, toilet, heater and double hand basins.
All units have bi-fold doors that open on to private decks that look over the village and bay, from here you can watch the most spectacular sunsets. The units are smoke-free but ashtrays are provided for use on the deck, which is furnished with a table and chairs. You have the choice of a super king size bed or two singles. There are 2 leather recliners in each room, a table and chairs, air conditioner, TV with Freeview access, radio/CD/iPod, DVD player. The units have kitchenettes with 2 plate glass top hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and all necessary utensils. All units have original paintings by South African artists.
The laundry with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board is also on the ground floor. Upstairs you will find the guest lounge/dining room. Here you can relax as a group and watch Sky TV, listen to the radio or play CD/DVD. In the winter you can enjoy the gas fire. There is also a deck area upstairs for the use of our guests with barbeque facilities.
Breakfast is not included in our quoted rates but is available at $30pp for a cooked or $15pp for continental, this is served in our guest dining room. As the guest dining room does not have wheel chair access, if ordered, breakfast will be served in the unit downstairs.
For special occasions we can provide a champagne breakfast. In the evenings if you do not feel like making your own dinner, take a stroll down to the village for dinner at one of the lovely restaurants. If you feel like something more romantic, stroll down to the wharf and take the passenger ferry to Paihia for dinner there.

Getting There
By car: From Auckland take SH1 past Whangarei up to Kawakawa. Instead of turning left into Kawakawa, carry on straight on SH11 towards Bay of Islands/Paihia. Watch out for a turnoff to the right towards Opua/Russell where a car ferry operates on a continuous basis. The last ferry leaves at 22h00 every night. Maps of Russell are available on the ferry. Russell village is 9 kms further. Once you are in York Street look out for the filling station on your left. Turn right here into Chapel Street. We are at the top of Chapel Street where it becomes Ashby Street.
By bus: Take bus to Paihia terminus which is next to Paihia Wharf. Take passenger ferry to Russell, phone us from Paihia for a complimentary pick-up from the Russell wharf.
By air: The closest airport is Kerikeri from where a taxi/shuttle service operates to Paihia. Take the passenger ferry to Russell, phone us from Paihia and we shall pick you up at Russell wharf.
