Opened in 1950, Shima Kanko Hotel The Classic is well known in Japan as one of the best classic hotels in the country. Located at a hill in the Ise Shima Green Reserve, overlooking Ago bay the hotel offers magnificent views of Ago bay.

A resort hotel of the old tradition with impeccable service, Shima kanko Hotel was the hotel of choice of late the Showa Emperor who stayed there five times.

Shima Kanko Hotel is also renowned for its French Seafood cuisine. Typical menus include kuro awabi (disk abalone), spiny Ise lobsters and other seafood caught locally. Do not miss to enjoy the hotels's trade mark lobster soup. If necessary you could take home same in canned form too.
