Overview
The Jade Garden Hotel was built in the 1930’s. In 1946, the Chinese Communist Party signed the Cease-Fire Agreement with the Guomindang. To carry out the Cease-Fire Agreement, the Guomindang, the Communist Party and the United States set up a joint Cease-Fire Committee in Beijing. The Jade Garden Hotel was chosen as the headquarters of General Ye Jianying, a hero of the Long March, and the Communist Cease-Fire Delegation—just some of the history of this building and its surroundings.

The Jade Garden Hotel is situated at the center of Beijing. From the hotel’s entrance, you can see the east gate of the Forbidden City and the only walking street, Wangfujing Street, at the heart of Beijing’s shopping and business center, just five minutes away.
