Nestled in native forest behind the African Savannah at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo lies Zoofari Lodge, a unique retreat comprising luxury, African-style tented accommodation, gourmet cuisine and exclusive, guided tours behind the scenes at the Zoo.
The Zoofari Lodge experience includes:

To make your stay as comfortable as possible with a private ensuite, coffee and tea making facilities, fridge, reading lamps, radio/alarm, shaded verandah and outdoor furniture. All bedding, linen and towels are provided. The lodges also feature heated floor tiles to keep you warm in winter.
The lodges are conveniently located near the Main House where guests can relax at the bar with a quiet drink, indulge in the culinary delights prepared by the Zoofari Lodge chef, enjoy a coffee in the library or even take a dip in the saltwater swimming pool.
The lodges are literally steps from your very own private viewing area of the Zoo's African Savannah exhibit where animals such as Giraffe, Eland, Zebra and Buffalo roam.
Taronga Western Plains Zoo is the only facility in Australasia to boast an African Elephant, three separate species of Rhino and the rare King Cheetah variant.
It is the only Zoo to allow the use of private vehicles on the Zoo circuit which is also navigable on foot, or by bike or electric cart.

Getting There
Zoofari Lodge is located at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo in Central Western New South Wales. Dubbo is easily accessible by air, rail and road. You can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse yourself in the Zoofari Lodge experience in a matter of hours.
Air
Dubbo is approximately 60 minutes by air from Sydney and is serviced by two carriers, Qantaslink and Regional Express. Dubbo City Airport is located five kilometres north west of Dubbo on the Mitchell Highway.

Countrylink

Road
Dubbo is approximately five and a half hours from Sydney, 10 hours from Brisbane and Melbourne and five hours from Canberra and Newcastle. Travel into Dubbo via the Newell or Mitchell Highway. Obley Road is left off the Newell Highway.
Parking Info
Simply enter the Zoo and park in one of the free car parks at the Plaza and announce your arrival to staff on the ticketing desk who will check you in and provide instructions on how to reach Zoofari Lodge which is located on the Zoo property. On arrival at Zoofari Lodge you will be met by one of our staff members who will run you through a quick registration procedure and escort you to your lodge.
