Overview
Wilpena Pound, located in South Australia’s Flinders Ranges, is a natural amphitheatre of mountains 17km long by 7km wide. Shaped by the weathering and uplifting of land this extraordinary landscape is 800 million years old.

While the scenery might be rugged, Wilpena Pound Resort is an Outback oasis. Located 429km north of Adelaide the resort offers the only accommodation choice inside the Flinders Ranges National Park and blends effortlessly into the landscape, providing a comfortable base from which to explore the Flinders Ranges.

A haven of warm outback hospitality, accommodation consists of 4 different room types, all benefitting from an extensive refurbishment. The rooms vary in size and style and range from studio rooms to suites with kitchen facilities.

With a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, campground, visitor information centre and general store, the resort is superbly equipped for both short- and long-term visitors to the area.

Guests are invited to experience some of the many activities around Wilpena Pound. There are multiple walking trails to choose from, or explore the undulating landscape from the comfort of a 4WD tour.

A must do experience is taking to the air to discover the majesty of the Pound and its surrounds from the air, a truly unforgettable way to view the Flinders.

Getting There
Wilpena Pound Resort is located approximatley 450kms North of Adelaide. Travel up the Sturt Highway to Port Augusta and turn right towards Quorn and Hawker, 55 Kms outside of Hawker you will find Wilpena Pound. Alternatively travel through the Clare Valley heading towards Jamestown, Craddock and then to Hawker. Book a bus and connecting transfer through Genesis Tours.
