Overview
Our aim for a new boutique hotel was simple – a place of uninterrupted relaxation and style - a place where we would want to be a guest!!

We selected a spot close to Sydney (having moved from there seeking a country life) with great vineyard views. We built a modern Australian design, based on the style of an outback shed, with corrugated iron, steel, glass and aged timber. We added every luxury from designer furniture to heated floors. We filled the fridges with good food and combined it with non –invasive service.

tonic is small and private - only 8 secluded guest rooms. We offer 6 big rooms with king size beds and en suites offering huge showers, deep baths and double sinks and one 2 bedroom apartment where 2 couples (or 4 girls - a great place for a chicks weekend) have all of the above + full kitchen, lounge and dining area with fireplace. A huge balcony looks over the stunning vineyard vista. Your own little world…

Our style is modern, a definite no chintz zone. Polished concrete floors teamed with cowhides and soft fluffy rugs. The colour schemes are fun and the furniture simple, elegant and contemporary. Every room is styled differently allowing us to have great fun with the décor. We added a novel twist, all the items in the rooms are for sale. Your room is a shop- its mini bar gone crazy. Yes you really can buy the furniture, the artwork, the ornaments, even the slippers are for sale.

We built a lounge for guests to chill or to host group and corporate functions. We made it a room you would want to spend time in. The walls are hand painted stripes and the furniture easy. Think 20 guests for sit down lunch or dinner or more for a cocktail style affair. tonic lounge could host your 40th birthday or the corporate think tank. Book all 8 tonic rooms and the lounge is on the house - do with it what you will !!

Our service is non invasive - an electronic key pad on the door set to a pre arranged code allows you to come and go as you please. There is no traditional check in or check out.

Tonic is set in Lovedale. The home of the Lovedale Long Lunch. It is the sister area to Pokolbin and is in itself a great destination, wineries and stylish restaurants offering modern Australian cuisine abound. Golfing, ballooning, walking, wine tasting. To make sure guests make the most of all that is on offer we have tonic concierge. This is a complimentary service for guests that can advise and make bookings. A friend in the hunter helping you organise and get the most out of your stay. Lovedale is an easy drive from Sydney, one and a half hours drive from the F3 turnoff at Wahroonga, a northern suburb of Sydney.

tonic massage service is in room. We offer a range of services, from massage to manicure and pedicure. A blissful way to recharge the body and soul.

Food is important to us. Our aim is to fill your in room fridge and room with food that you want to eat. The best of the local area and not just your standard pringles and mars bars. Breakfast is a do it yourself thing. No having to dress and go to a dining room between the allotted hours. Wear nothing and eat when you like in the privacy of your own room. Your fridge contains all you need for a 3 course breakfast with real coffee and specialty teas.

Tonic is adults only. No children under 15.

tonic lounge is a fresh alternative for your next party or business event. It is a room especially built for you. It offers modern fun decor, simple furniture, large timber decks and views over the pool across the valley.
Think 20 guests for sit down lunch or dinner,or more for a cocktail style affair. It could be used for a workshop, a cooking class, an office think tank or getaway. TV audio and internet are all there for you.
tonic will cater for your function, featuring the best local food and produce the Hunter Valley has to offer.

Getting There
You know that where you choose to retreat is an important as where you stay.
tonic is located on Talga Road in Lovedale.
1 hour and 30 minutes easy drive from the F3 freeway start on the north of Sydney. 2 hours from the city centre in a northern direction.
Buses travel to and from Sydney every day to our region but having a car is the true way to explore.
Our closest airport is Williamstown( Newcastle) and cars can be hired from here.
