Overview
The Vineyard Motel has six charming, spacious rooms opening onto wide front and back verandahs where you can relax and unwind while you enjoy a drink and savour the wonderful views and the quiet.

We offer the friendly and helpful hospitality of a B&B with the individual privacy of a motel.

Your cereal, juice and toast (continental breakfast) - and even plunger coffee - is included in the tariff. All rooms have a microwave oven plus tea and coffee making facilities.

A cooked breakfast with sausages, eggs, bacon, tomatoes and mushrooms is available for $15 per person.

There is wine, beer, soft drinks, chips and cheese & crackers in the Mini Bar at reasonable prices.

We have a good sized pool (for summer) and underfloor heating (for winter). There are also ceiling Fans, air conditioners and small heaters for inbetween weather.

The property is situated on the Canberra side of Cowra, just on the edge of town with a AAA 3½ Star rating.

Cowra golf course is nearby and welcomes visitors.

Pets are very welcome.

Anytime of year is a good time to come, however Spring and Autumn showcase some wonderful scenery.


Office Hours are normally about 8.00 a.m. to 7.00 pm with Check-in usually from about 2.00 p.m. with other times possible by prior arrangement.

Please check in at Reception before heading around to your room, - even if you have been here before.

If you have any special dietary requirements, eg gluten free, soy milk, allergies, etc, please let us know so we can have it ready for you.

We use fresh Lite White milk in the rooms for our guests.

There are a couple of excellent restaurants where you can eat at night: The Quarry (Friday and Saturday - lunch and dinner and Sunday lunch), is within walking distance, Tommy’s (Tuesday – Saturday and Sunday Brunch) is excellent and is in the main street in town; It is strongly recommended that you book for either of these.

The Services Club (RSL) and the Bowling Club are also both good value.

The Aussie Hotel (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) is very child friendly also and has great food at reasonable prices; The Hong Kong Chinese (Opposite KFC) is also good value .

We also have a guest BBQ. You bring the fresh stuff and we provide condiments, crockery and cutlery, including salad bowls and dressings.

If you would prefer us to provide dinner when you are here, please let me know as early as you can. We can do a set menu 2-course dinner for $25-$30 ph or a light snack for about $15 per head.

A reminder that we are Pet Friendly and there are likely to be well behaved animals on the premises.

Cowra Breakout Trail - Hologram, (at the Information Centre), The Rose Garden, Japanese War Cemetery, POW Camp, Cherry Tree Avenue, Japanese Garden and Cultural Centre (audio tour enthusiastically recommended - you will miss most of the nuances of the garden otherwise); World Peace Bell, The Art Gallery, Italian Hands of Friendship.

Wyangala Waters, The Observatory, the very hands-on Rail, Rural and War Museum, etc. etc

Getting There
HOW TO FIND US

(A) From the Cowra Visitor Information Centre (near McDonald’s):

proceed about 3km along the Lachlan Valley Way toward Boorowa (Yass, Canberra). Drive past the golf course (on your right), under the overhead railway bridge, past Lachlan Fertlisers (on your right). Travel past the 100kph speed sign and then turn next right up Chardonnay Road. There is a large Vineyard Motel sign on the corner. Drive up to the top of the rise and you will see our entrance on your right.

(B) From Yass/Borrowa:

We are about one hour from Boorowa. As you get closer to Cowra keep a lookout for the C10 indicator (Cowra 10km). Travel another few kilometres, past "The Quarry" on your left and after just another 100 metres you will see our sign on the corner. Turn left up Chardonnay Road to the top of the rise and turn right into our entrance way.

Parking Info
Car parking is available on-site at the rear of the building with access to your room from the car park through your rear door. We wouldn't want to spoil the view at the front with parked cars now, would we?

Because we cannot actually be seen from the main road, we are safe and secure.
