At Taras Richmond Farmstay we offer a choice of two clean and modern, self-contained eco-friendly apartments.

** Taras Richmond Farmstay - Sugarloaf Apartment**
Our Sugarloaf Apartment has 2 bedrooms, and is suitable for up to 5 people. A basket of breakfast provisions including fresh bread and award-winning jams is included in the tariff.

The Sugarloaf apartment has a large queen bed room (with sizeable en-suite) and a separate large living area with kitchen facilities. The second bedroom has twin beds. On request, an additional single bed can be placed in the queen bedroom for a 5th person. The only bathroom in this apartment is the large en-suite off the main bedroom. We are a child-friendly business and a cot, high-chair and selection of kids toys are also available if required. This apartment is wheel-chair friendly.

Outside there is a large patio area with table and chairs and a BBQ. A washing machine is also available.

******* Wellington Studio ******

The Wellington Studio is suitable for singles or a couple. It is named for the views from the bedroom window, across the paddocks to Mount Wellington. It has a queen bed room, separate kitchen and spacious bathroom with bathtub and separate shower. This apartment is not suitable for wheelchairs.

A basket of breakfast provisions including fresh bread and award-winning jams is included in the tariff.

Please let us know of any special needs upon booking.

The Wellington Studio kitchen is equipped with full size fridge, hotplates, microwave, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. A washing machine is also available. The bedroom has two comfortable arm chairs, and a flat-screen TV with DVD player to help you relax.

There is plenty of off-street, level, free parking.


***Things to see and do***
We are located on a small farm, which guests are welcome to explore at their leisure. Children are welcome, and will enjoy exploring the farmyard and interacting with the farm animals - sheep, chickens, ducks, pony etc. Admire the 360 degree views over the paddocks to Mount Wellington and surrounding countryside or relax and enjoy the peace and restful atmosphere.

Stay around Christmas time and feast on raspberries that you can pick yourself from our large berry patch, or from February look for lovely peaches and plums in our orchard. Other times of the year we may be pruning, working with the sheep, tree planting or cutting hay.

Just 3 minutes drive away is Richmond village, with its historic bridge and rich history. Feed the ducks near the river or hire a small boat and explore Richmond from the water. Visit Old Hobart Town, the Richmond Gaol (Jail) or Zoo Doo and see all sorts of native and exotic animals, plus feed the kangaroos. The Coal Valley is also renowned for its multitude of vineyards and local produce in season, including cherries and apricots.

Further afield you can take a drive through Hobart, up Mt Wellington and see amazing views, or visit the Tahune Airwalk, Salmon Ponds, Mt. Field or Port Arthur. A few hours drive will take you to Wineglass Bay or Launceston.

Business Facilities
WiFi internet access available, as are fax, phone copying and printing facilities upon request. We are in a good mobile coverage area, with excellent Telstra, Optus and Vodaphone reception.

Getting There
We are located at 31 Ogilvie Lane, Richmond, which is 2.5 km down Prossers Road on the left hand side (where the asphalt ends). From Hobart side, cross over the Richmond Bridge and take 3rd left (Prossers Road). Travel along Prossers Road for 2.5 km and turn left into Ogilvie Lane. From the north/east, Prossers Road leads off Fingerpost Road, and Ogilvie Lane is 2.4 km towards Richmond.

Parking Info
Cars can be parked on asphalt close to the unit. We have plenty of space and can accommodate parking for large and small vehicles. Parking is free.
