Welcome to Secret Valley Escape, a magnificent 200 acre romantic retreat located in Little Hartley in the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, a short 2 hour drive from Sydney.

A world where time is still. Wake up to the morning light, step out onto your balcony and watch kangaroos foraging in the mist. Meander down to Blackheath Creek where the water runs over the rocks and search for platypus and turtles. Take a picnic through the valley, and ascend to the high fields where the wind sings to the gumtrees. In the evening take a glass of wine and sink into your private outdoor jacuzzi; breathe in the cool bush air and watch the colours slowly shift into a clear starlit sky.

Secret Valley Escape is an exclusive retreat open only to guests in order to preserve the absolute serenity and magical experience of the Australian bush. There are numerous walking trails to explore all the hidden corners of our 200 acre retreat: from the serene valley down to the cool waters, up along the cliffside to stunning lookout and meditation points. We share our home with families of roaming kangaroos and wallabies. For time to explore our secret valley and savour this magical experience we do recommend staying at least 2 nights.

Luxury Spa Cottages

Stay in one of our 5 boutique luxury spa cottages, tranquil and private, with beautiful views over the escarpment and bushland.

Each cottage is gifted with its own private outdoor jacuzzi on the open deck! Imagine passing hours soaking in the delicious steaming waters whilst enjoying the cool mountain air and beautiful views of escarpment and bushland. Our spas are very generously sized and can hold up to 4 people.

We have 5 luxury spa cottages all individually furnished to exacting levels of comfort and luxury, to complement the natural surrounding beauty. The cottages are perfect for couples with a luxurious queen size bed and ensuite. Each cottage is self-contained with an thoughtfully equipped kitchenette and BBQ. There is a wood fire stove to warm the mountain winter nights, and a CD and DVD player with complimentary DVDs available from our library. All quality linen and towels are provided, along with slippers and luxurious fluffy bathrobes.


Artist's Cottage

Our other accommodation is Artist’s Cottage, a beautiful 2 level cottage which can accommodate from 2 to 4 people. Artist's cottage is situated in an amazingly peaceful setting amongst the trees overlooking Blackheath Creek. Downstairs there is an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with beautiful slate tiles. The timber kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove, oven, microwave and breadmaker, and there is a BBQ on the deck. There are 2 large bedrooms, each of which has a luxurious queen size bed, and the upstairs bedroom has a gorgeous private sunny balcony opening onto the trees. There is a log fire stove for winter nights, and CD and DVD player. The large jacuzzi on the outdoor deck is perfect for 2 couples. All quality linen, towels and bathrobes are supplied.

Getting There
Secret Valley Escape is located in Little Hartley in the Blue Mountains, between Katoomba and Jenolan Caves. A short 2 hour drive from Sydney, or 20 minutes from Lithgow.

If coming by train, you can take the train from Sydney to the Blue Mountains, to Mount Victoria station. A local taxi can be pre-ordered to bring you to Secret Valley Escape. The trip will only take about 15 minutes.

Parking Info
Each cottage is provided with its own parking space. Assigned parking spaces are provided for guests staying in Illowra House.
