GOLF:
Quambys beautiful 9-hole golf course was constructed in the early 1990s. Positioned on a high elevation, the fairways have magnificent views to the Ben Lomand Ranges in the East and the Great Western Tiers to the South. The fairways are lined by large mature trees planted in rows with garden avenues, hedgerows, watercourses, lakes and ponds. Built in the 1850s, the original Estate Managers office and home are now the golf club house, this Georgian-style building complemented by an adjoining bar offering light refreshments to golfers and guests.
Twice round, this nine-hole 6,847 metre course commands a par 76. At 576 metres, the 8th hole is the longest par 5 in Tasmania. There are 9 lakes, cascades, creeks and 3 challenging Scottish bunkers. A major feature of the course, the beautifully groomed bunkers are from specially refined Scottsdale sands. Clubs and buggies are available for hire.
