Welcome to Smithfield & North Central Lodge A short walk from James Cook University and 15 - 20 MInutes drive to Cairns City Center.
We aim to provide the best possible accommodation at the lowest possible price; while doing all that we can to be efficient with our resource consumption. North Central Lodge is constructed to be consupmtion efficient and is mostly natural enery and resource operational.
There are no smelly corridors; All rooms are Fresh and clean, and on ground level with direct access to outside.
Our goal is to insure that when you leave you are looking forward to coming back.

Situated next to parkland NCL offers a quiet, peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Located Across the highway from James Cook University, just a short walk from shops and restaurants. In the midst of many world class attractions and things to do: beaches,rainforest,natural and man-made attractions and just a short walk to shops restaurants, James Cook University (JCU). But still only approximately 15 Min drive to city center.
LOCATION: "NCL" is located northward centrally in the Smithfield Suburb. A few minutes drive past Skyrail, Tjapukai Dance Theatre, the Smithfield Shopping Mall which is at the bottom of the Great Deviding Range gateway to Kuranda and the world famous Kuranda Markets 15 minutes up in the rainforest mountains.
We are, at the next roundabout (about 2k) past the shopping center before 'Trinity Beach' (on the way to Port Duglas), turn right at the roundabout then at the third street on the left, (Sidlaw Street) we are the first place on the left next to the parkland.
This is a perfect location from which to enjoy your holiday. We operate a quiet, friendly and homely place offering privacy, comfort and relaxation.

NCL is centrally located to many fascinating attractions and things to see and do. For your choice of selection we have a huge board of tour and holiday service providers' information (most of which will pick you up at your front door)
Here you are only a short walk to James Cook University, shopping, restaurants and take-aways.
We are approximately a fifteen 15 minute drive to Cairns City Center the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and beautiful islands, Cairns Reef Casino and a selection of golf courses – all this and more is an approximate 15 minute drive away.

NCL will always welcome you! We have been operating for over 15 years and are pioneers to Cairns City, on request we can; and are happy to provide our personal experience and advice to our customers if they wish us to do so.
NCL is a great gateway to: Port Douglas, Mosman Gorge, Daintree National Park, Cape Tribulation to the north. Kuranda and the Atherton Tablelands to the west. Mission Beach, Townsville and the Whitsunday Islands to the south;
Cairns is a great location to visit, at least two weeks are recommended to allow enough time for you to fully experience the region. Welcome!

Getting There
LOCATION:
North Central Lodge B & B is easy to find. We are located in the beaches area; northward of the city and across the highway from the James Cook University,
To find us: Use the Bruce Highway from the South to get to Cairns. Once in the city centre, turn left into the Captain Cook Highway (Sheridan Street) and follow along. You will pass the Smithfield Shopping Centre. At the first roundabout northward from the Smithfield Shopping Centre turn right. Turn into the third street on the left. We are No. '5 Sidlaw Street' the first place on the left next to the parkland.
We are an approximate fifteen minute drive from the city centre and ten minutes from the domestic and international airport.
