Overview
The family owned CBD Hotel, Newcastle is as the name suggests located in the heart of the business district of Newcastle! .... And with the Newcastle central business district being surrounded by beautiful beaches, the honeysuckle redevelopment of the harbour foreshore and the dining precinct along Darby Street, the CBD Hotel really is situated in the heart of it all!

Following the completion of an entire refurbishment program of the first floor accommodation in February 2011, the CBD Hotel now has 20 newly appointed pub style guest rooms each with brand new bedding, a 32 inch flat screen television, split system air conditioning, a small bar fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a hand basin in all non-ensuite rooms.

Of our 20 guest rooms, four of them have ensuites, whilst the remaining rooms are serviced by separate good quality Men's and Women's bathroom amenities.


The hotel facilities situated on the ground floor offers great friendly service and incorporates a public bar with full TAB facilities, a saloon bar with three FOX Sport channels and a 120 seat bistro serving great pub favourites and modern Australian cuisine.

Our espresso garden bar, located at the rear of the bistro serves great coffee, cafe menu & tempting sweet treats Monday to Friday with our Bistro open for lunch 12-2pm, dinner 6-8:30pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

The hotel also provides on-site guest parking for 9 vehicles.

There is late night entertainment on the ground floor Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights (as late as 3am).

During Winter, Monday has shorter trading hours - the Cafe Garden Bar operates 7:30-2:30pm (Bistro and Main Bar are closed Mondays).

Getting There
We are conveniently located at 471 Hunter St, approximately 200m west of Civic Railway Station, whilst our rear car park is accessed from 348 King St, between Union St and Auckland St.

All buses heading into Newcastle pass by the hotel on Hunter Street, so ask the driver to let you know when the stop is coming up.

Newcastle Airport is located approximately 35 minutes drive from the hotel, with a taxi or hire car being the most common form of transfer into the city.

Parking Info
The hotel provides on-site off street guest & patron parking for up to 10 vehicles. Car parks are not reserved and are subject to availablity.
