Overview
Mona pavilions offer contemporary design, avant-garde art, a heated lap pool, sauna and gym, restaurant, micro-brewery and winery near Hobart. The eight pavilions sit on a 3.5 hectare private peninsula that curves into the Derwent River.
Artwork from the Mona collection is featured in each room and guests will also have access to their choice of online imagery streamed from the Mona collection which opened in January 2011.
Each pavilion has panoramic, north-facing views, is fully self-contained, and built to ensure privacy, indulgence, relaxation and comfort. Three are elegant glass cubes that appear balanced in the landscape; one is a diamond shaped three-storey building enclosed in a silver metallic skin; and the remaining four are suspended from steel frames high above the water.
You can choose from one-or-two bedroom configurations; all with access to the glass enclosed, heated lap-pool, sauna and gymnasium with views across the River.
They feature double spa baths, contemporary bespoke furniture by Tasmanian designers along with international designs by Philippe Starck, B&B Italia and Ron Arad, and state-of-the-art kitchens.
Each pavilion has a private cellar stocked with Moorilla award-winning wines and Moo Brew beer.
Rates include breakfast in The Source Restaurant daily. Lunch is available seven days a week & dinner is available Tuesday through to Saturday evenings.
In-room techno toys include dockings stations for your iPod or iPhone, in-room wireless internet service, music server with a choice of music pre-installed, 5.1 digital sound; Blu-ray disc player, Dynalite controlled lighting, and Aquavision LCD screens with waterproof controls.
