For a romantic getaway, rejuvenating rest, a honeymoon or fun adventure, come to our Byron Bay bed and breakfast style retreat in a special part of Australia where you can escape the busy-ness of life and enjoy the moment.

Our two chalets have Japanese inspired Red Cedar interiors providing a comfortable haven within cool Mediterranean-style rendered walls, luxurious loft style queen-sized bedrooms and spectacular views toward Byron Bay & the surrounding areas. One of the most spectacular mountain range and ocean views to be seen anywhere.

Generous shaded wrap around verandahs supported by massive Ironbark poles create the perfect setting to lounge, relax or dine outside. Sit back and relax in your own private balcony spa, or your hosts can advise activities, attractions, good restaurants much more.

A wide range of sumptuous gourmet dinners are provided, such as fresh seafood, free-range poultry and vegetarian delights and your chalet comes with its own balcony barbecue. (Visit our chalet’s page for more details and pictures)

We can provide you with lots of ideas for things to do, with Byron Bay having many different activity and tour operators. Scuba Diving, Surfing, Horse riding, joy flights, ocean kayaking Craft Markets, 5 Golf Courses, Great Dining Out.... too many to list here.! And of course our fabulous beaches and hinterland are there for you enjoy and explore. If you prefer, just sit back and enjoy the view from your own private outdoor spa.

Getting There
Directions to Koonyum Range Retreat - Byron Bay Accommodation

Koonyum Range Retreat is located on the edge of the Koonyum Range, 7km up Wilson's Creek Rd. towards Wilson's Creek just past the Mullumbimby Golf Course. For general location, see the map below.

From Byron Bay:

Drive toward the highway & over the bridge as if going NORTH toward Tweed Heads but do not enter the highway. Instead, just over the bridge turn RIGHT on Myocum Rd. Follow for approx. 11.6km through rolling farmlands, until you come to a stop sign at the T-Intersection. Turn RIGHT towards Mullumbimby then an immediate LEFT on Wilson’s Creek Rd. Drive 5.6km up a winding hill until you reach "Koonyum Range Rd." Turn RIGHT on the dirt road and proceed slowly. Drive exactly 1.8km; look for a sign opposite our driveway that reads Koonyum Range Retreat. Turn right into the driveway.


From the Highway:

Take the Mullumbimby Exit and proceed to Mullumbimby. Drive to the end of the main street until you come to the last intersection where the POST OFFICE is on the left corner and the POLICE are on the right corner. Turn LEFT at this intersection; proceed past the swimming pool, bowling club and high school, then out of town past the Mullumbimby Golf Course. At the end of the driving range on your RIGHT you will see Wanganui Rd (to Wilson's Creek). Drive 5.6km up a winding hill until you reach "Koonyum Range Rd." Turn RIGHT on the dirt road and proceed slowly. Drive exactly 1.8km; look for a sign opposite our driveway that reads Koonyum Range Retreat. Turn right into the driveway.
