Overview
Ideally situated within the city of Launceston, Hi George B&B, built 1880 overlooking the city with a view of the river Tamar. A Heritage property, Fully Restored in 2006 to suit Bed & Breakfast accommodation. Easy access through the car park to main street, shopping mall and restaurants, and all of the must do tourist attractions.
Rooms have been tastefully refurbished with new ensuites and furnishings.
Guests come into the new Breakfast Room for a cooked breakfast. The modern open plan design looking over the city makes breakfast time enjoyable. Visitors enjoy exchanging stories of where they have been with locals who stay from other parts of the state. The locals tell them of where to go or stay as they tour the state.
A walking map of Launceston is offered on arrival at Hi George, and explains where to go in the city and down the Tamar River and wine route.
It is easy to have three days in Launceston being the third oldest ciy in Australia. Many of the old buildings dating back to early 1800's are still in very original condition. A walking tour is available guided by a most informative guide. Hi George does not accommodate children under 16 years.
Don't have a car?, no worries, Launceston is an easy city to see everything by foot.

Getting There
Airport shuttle, Taxi, or car. Launceston is 14km from the airport. Turn right from the airport, drive 1km to the main roundabout, go straight through following the sign to Launceston. As you come down the steep hill towards Launceston, you are entering Bathurst Street, then look for Elizabeth Street on your right. Turn right into Elizabeth Street and come up through four sets of traffic lights, to George Street.
Turn left into George Street, then next right into York Street. Follow York Street for around 200m looking on your left for HI George, at 64 York Street. For car park look for orange bollard at one property above Hi George and then park in allocated Hi George car park.
