Hermitage Hill Country Retreat is a beautifully restored 105 year old District Hospital Complex located 370km west of Sydney, where the mountains meet the valley plains. The Country Retreat features 17 luxurious, well appointed rooms suitable for all tastes and budgets. All our rooms feature air conditioning, heating, a refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities, a clock radio, television, iron and ironing board and an ensuite.

Our state of the art property facilities include: wedding and conference facilities that can seat up to 120 people, and a solar heated swimming pool to enjoy all year round. Set facing the Macquarie River Valley to the East and the Bell River Valley to the West, the 105 year old District Hospital Complex (Circa 1904) has undergone a mammoth restoration to present the current Hermitage Hill Country Retreat.

Our accommodation options include;

2 Bedroom Cottage - Great stand alone cottage with a King sized bed in the main bedroom, two king singles in the second. Each of the bedrooms has a TV, great for a family who would rather enjoy the peace a quiet. Just 30 minutes from Dubbo stay and take the kids across to the zoo for a day trip. In the cottage there is also a microwave and a larger than average refrigerator.
Stone Cottage - Accommodation in the Stone Cottage consists of four poster king size beds and deluxe spa suites offering the ultimate in comfort. The Stone Cottage is constructed of locally quarried Bluestone with detailed Federation styling and high ceilings. Set separately from the function centre and other accommodation blocks, the Stone Cottage also has a small meeting room which can also be used for intimate dinners.

The Guest House - Formerly the nurses’ quarters, the beautifully renovated Guest House contains 13 rooms with varying facilities and a large living area, complete with a huge wide screen digital TV and a solar heated pool. One of the rooms has been fitted out to ensure wheelchair accessibility.

Hermitage Hill is the ideal venue for corporate functions, wedding receptions, a gala ball, birthday and Christmas parties or other formal or semi-formal celebrations. We cater for meeting groups from 10, upwards to seating 120 people.

Getting There
Located on the eastern side of Wellington, heading east turn left off the Mitchell Highway (Arthur Street)at the BP Service station into Maxwell Street. Heading North follow Maxwell Street to the very end (approximately 1½ km) which leads you directly into the main gates of Hermitage Hill Country Retreat & Function Centre. 30 Minutes from Dubbo, 1 hour from Orange, Mudgee and Parkes.
