Overview
Faulty Towers homestead is a magnificent architecturally designed and craftsman built Bed & Breakfast reminiscent of the private hotels of the early 20th century; designed for the comfort of guests who appreciate extra space and tasteful luxury.
Stay in a fabulous Suite: Flooring is solid Wandoo timber (so please bring your fav soft soled shoes to wear inside) from a Geraldton Shearing Shed, timber linings/trims are Baltic and rugs are wool or hide.
Enjoy the best night's sleep in the region with truly wonderful full ensemble orthopaedic beds. Guests regularly enquire as to where they can get the bed.
If you enjoy your spa then ours will not disappoint. The bathrooms are not ensuite size and are in fact bigger than the average full bathroom with genuinely double spas, one with therapeutic multi-jets.
The decor is beautiful but realistic, no marble or pot-pourie. We prefer to furnish how we feel comfortable with beautiul antiques and collectables. No we haven't used our old unwanted things to furnish your rooms. Instead we bought someones else's!! Hoping you appreciate a little irony.
Guests are well separated for privacy, in fact you may not even see anyone else during your stay. Walls have accoustic barriers installed which helps but is not completely sound free. Suites do have private entries so you wont feel like you are intruding at all.
Come and go as you please but be warned, guests intending to spend their days out often tell us they couldn't leave their suite! You will appreciate the warm hospitality of Faulty's without any of the fuss.
Our spa suites:
The way this web site lists 'rooms' makes it difficult to see which suite is which just by the name. If you are choosing a suite then both are equally loved. Staying downstairs will give you the larger spa and a little more glam - you will need to go up 3 steps to get in. Staying upstairs will give you more space and is architecturally impressive. Both are superb, have excellent garden views, have decks and get similar reviews. Those who stay in the donwstairs ask for it again and vv.
When you book, put a note in if you think you may have a preferance. Also, let us know if you just want a room not a suite and we can organise that for you as well.
A more low key Cottage:
If you love genuine quality vintage retro then stay in a 3.5 star 2 bedroom cottage complete with the same quality queen beds, full kitchen with black bubble fridge, lounge, dining/lounge, TV DVD and deck with BBQ
Our little environmental push: We line dry all washing, which can be challenging particularly since our faithful dryer gave up. We decided, after much thinking, that there would be no more dryer! The aircon or heater is to be run only between 20 - 24 degrees so if you like your room freezing cold in Summer or prefer to live in a sauna in Winter then this is probably not the B&B for you. In saying that, the house is very well insulated and tends to be cool in Summer. We recycle where we can with our chickens or lab & jack russell getting the left over food. We collect our own water off our steel roof, which we professionally filter and use but still have town water connected.
All cleaning is done carefully with natural ingredients, orange oil, eucalyptus oil and silver. We do use a little jif to polish the porcelain! Your sheets and towels have been washed in Eco wash with a dash of eucalyptus oil.
Our garden practices are also chemical free. We don't use any silly 'harmless' herbacides either. Proudly, not a Monsanto product in the vacinity.
Please also note that we are a 'wifi free' zone which means we have made a conscious decision not to allow any wifi within the property. We ask that guests respect this at all times. This will not prevent you using your straight internet USB stick.
We have a full steel roof (not colourbond or zinc) and you may not notice but this also reduces the 'waves' reaching the house allowing for a more restful stay. To the same end, we have had all wiring in the bedrooms installed well away from the bed head to allow you a better nights rest. Some guests who stay with us regularly, tell us they feel very calm and well rested when they leave. We have had a traveller come and go during her travels in Australa and mention that she couldn't work out why she always felt so rested after having stayed with us. I'm sure the earthy timbers, lack of chemicals and other safer choices we have made also help.
Breakfast:
Where stated, we include a continental breakfast which consists of a fresh bread selection (please, just ask if you have a preference) mostly home made spreads, real butter, and milk (let us know if you like low fat). Some packages allow us to include a selection of dried and fresh fruit in salad form - not your average - and some fresh natural yogurt.
If you are considering ordering a full breakfast, it is served privately in your suite at your own dining table (often requested between 9:30 - 11am; if you enjoy a sleep in ). The price at $50 for two is a little extra act of love for our guests. We don't discount either if just one is wanting a full breakfast. The full gourmet is a combination of delicious fresh produce, some delectable goodies, complimented by the usual cooked fare. If all this hoopla is too much and you just want a good country cooked breakfast or one big breakky, you will find plenty to eat and can leave dishes out if you prefer. We do cater for vegetarian guests with quality ingredients and balanced dishes. We also cater for celiacs or just wheat free like me. Don't hesitate to ask if you have a particular dietary need and we will tell you honestly if we can help.
Packaging: you will note that some room rates have fewer inclusions. The basic package includes a stay in the same beautiful rooms but without any of the extras. You will have linen included but only bath towels not sheets, no
This beautiful property is nestled in amongst native gums and a swathe of tree grass with towering kangaroo tails most of the year. Native birds often found in song include parrots, currawongs, finches, kookaburras and magpies.
A good night's sleep is guaranteed as beds across the property have been selected for comfort and size not price.
Pets are accepted only in the cottage and only after discussion with the prospective guest regarding habits, barking toileting. Please, no pets kept in vehicles either.
All the fine print:
Changes to dates: If you wish to book but, for health or other reasons are not sure that you be able to travel on the booked dates then please contact us as early as possible and we may be able to offer some flexibility.
Please call or preferably text when you know your approximate arrival time. Its nice to know we will be available when you arrive. We have no problem with you arriving later in the evening if you have called us first.
Please, no guest's visitors on the property including the car park, driveway, or even outside the gate. This protects the absolute privacy of all our guests. We really don't want to have to ask someone to move on.
