The Elms is a AAA rated four and half star heritage property.It is one of Hobart's grandest and most famous old mansions, recorded on the Register of the National Estate.

The Elms has been carefully restored to reflect the original splendor of its period. The antique furnishings and decor create an ambiance such that you feel you are entering this beautiful mansion at the time it was first established early last century.

The Elms is one of a number of Hobart's landmark buildings. It is entered in the Register of the National Estate as an outstanding example of a large house of World War One vintage.

This lovely old mansion is centrally located 1.2 km from the CBD and 500 meters walk from the famous North Hobart "Gourmet Strip" which houses many of Hobart's better known eating establishments. Some twenty restaurants and cafes, all within the city block, offer the diner a variety of choice international and ethnic cuisines.
Delightful gardens are a feature of the large property and a favourite place guests to relax in the shade of the lovely old trees.

Enjoy breakfast between 8am -9.30am with a relaxing atmosphere in our Dining Room with an outlook onto our beautiful English garden and the Derwent river.
The Guests Lounge is a wonderful place to relax and share experiences with other travellers over a complimentary or sherry, or a wine from our honesty cellar.

This property is a smoke free property but have a designated area outside the property for smokers.

Important information: All of our rooms are only for two adults except the 2 bedroom accomodates max. three adults.
Sorry--Whilst we love children and do have our own, The Elms is unsuitable for children and children are not accommodated at our property & we do not have facilities for babies.

Getting There
It is a 20 min drive from the airport.
After driving over the Tasman Bridge turn right with sign North Hobart. At round about turn right into Brooker Avenue,left into Burnett Street. Second set of traffic light turn right into Elizabeth Street. Past Post Office, left on the bend. We are located at 452 Elizabeth Street.
