Hidden away in a quiet back road in the Dandenong Ranges, just an hour from Melbourne are two very special cottages.

Candlelight Cottage, c.1890 has been fully renovated to provide three bedrooms with one king bed, one queen and one single. It features a full kitchen, laundry and asunny dining room with French Doors opening to the garden which has a tinkling waterfall. The bathroom has a two person spa bath with a glass ceiling above and a walk in shower. The lounge room has an open fire and there is central heating and air conditioning. Children, friends and family are welcome, and even pets by arrangement in this lovely cottage. The enclosed back garden offers a sunny sitting area and a BBQ.

Twilight Cottage is just perfect for two. French Provincial in style with an antique iron half tester muslin draped bed, a deep spa bath for two with a glass ceiling above, a comfortable lounge with an open fire. There is a full kitchen and a bathroom with a double shower. Outside is a pretty sheltered courtyard to breakfast in.

All this privacy and romance within 500 metres of Olinda and Mount Dandenong Villages with their wealth of restaurants, cafes, boutique shops and the beautiful gardens for which the Dandenongs are famous. Cloudehill Gardens are an easy 2km walk; Puffing Billy Steam Train & the amazing Trees Adventure are just 15 minutes by car. The wineries, restaurants, Healesville Sanctuary and art galleries of the Yarra Valley are an easy 40 minute drive from the Dandenongs.

We can provide packages for winery tours, chauffeur pickup for some local restaurants, entry to Cloudehill.

Each season in the Dandenongs is special and we have for you a different special with the change of seasons.

The cottages are both of a four star standard, in beautiful tree ferned garden settings and a world away from everyday life.

Getting There
If travelling by car, the cottages are located at 9 Monash Avenue, Olinda. Vic Melways Map 66 H6.

Please come to reception at 7 Monash Avenue, Olinda, first to check in.

We would suggest you travel from the city (approximately one hour) via either the Monash or Eastlink freeway to Burwood Highway and come up towards the mountain to Upper Ferntree Gully. You will then follow the signs to Olinda which is 12km.

Once in Olinda village with the shops straight in front of you, follow the road to the left and turn right immediately at the end of the shops. This is Monash Avenue (past the Pharmacy, public toilets) and come 500m down Monash Avenue, over three speed humps, and you will find Candlelight Cottages well signposted on your right just after Cards Lane.

Please do not follow a GPS system as they will take you on a merry dance when you reach the mountain. Signage and perhaps some GPS guidance to Upper Ferntree Gully Railway station, then follow the instructions above.

From Tullamarine airport you have an approximately a one hour and fifteen minute drive, via the Monash Freeway to the South Eastern Suburbs.

If travelling by public transport, it is simple to catch a train to Upper Ferntree Gully railway station (Belgrave line) where a bus will bring you to Monash Avenue, Olinda and you just walk down the hill. We are happy to drop you back to the station after your stay with us.
