Overview
Self-contained timber cottages nestled in rainforest, on a stunning 300-acre property overlooking Byron Bay and hinterland. Only 5 min drive (7kms) from the heart of Byron Bay, its beaches and historic Bangalow village. The cottages all have private verandahs overlooking the lake, heritage rainforest & rolling farmland. 1-bedroom cottages have a queen bed in the bedroom. 1-bedroom family cottages have a queen, single & single trundle bed in the bedroom. All 1-bedroom cottage have an ensuite bathroom, kitchen & open-plan lounge/dining area. 2-bedroom cottages have a queen bed in the master bedroom and two single beds (& a single trundle bed) in the second bedroom. The cottages have cathedral ceilings with fans to keep cool in summer and heaters to stay cosy warm in winter. There is a digital TV and DVD player in the lounge. The kitchens have all the crockery, cutlery and utensils you will need for as long as you wish to stay. All cottages have a gas cooktop (no oven), microwave and fridge/freezer. Woodfired BBQs are situated at various points around the cottages, farm and lake. There is a communal laundry with a washing machine, tub, iron and ironing board. The lake is suitable for swimming and there is a rowboat, canoe and kayak available free to use, with lifejackets provided. You can also try your luck fishing in the lake for Australian Bass. The cottages are AAA rated at 3 and a half stars and have ther own individual rainwater tanks for drinking water. Landscaped native rainforest gardens separate each cottage. You can spend your time wandering the farm, talking to the cows, goats & chickens, meandering in the rainforest, or walking up an old cedar-cutters track to spectacular ocean and lighthouse views.(This one is a favourite of ours at sunset and full moon). Being so close to all the North Coast attractions and having the peace and serenity of being in the country, we really do have the best of both worlds, come and try it! Getting There
The 300 acre property is 7 kilometres from Byron Bay or Bangalow on Bangalow Rd. Reception is situated at the farmhouse at 436 Bangalow Rd, adjacent to the driveway down to the cottages, look for the "Byron Bay Farmstay" sign. If travelling south through Byron, turn right before the Byron Bay Golf course into Bangalow Rd and look for the signs after 3.7 kilometres. Reception is on the left hand side. If coming from Bangalow, go straight down the main street and you are on Bangalow Rd. Follow this for approximately 7 kilometers from town and look for the signs on the right hand side.
