Overview
Cottages at Tarraleah
Polished wooden floor boards, warm fires, queen size beds, a fully equipped kitchen and dinning area - these Art deco cottages are self contained, rather large time capsules with modern facilities.
With one to three bedrooms, many of them have original Art deco furnishings or examples of Tasmanian fine furniture making. All have TV's, DVD's, electric blankets and laundry, plus a 1930's style kitchen with 21st Century appliances.
Rated by the UK Consumers group magazine "Holiday Which" as one of the places to stay in Tasmania. Two night minimum stay.
The Highlander Arms with its local beers and home cooking is less than five minutes walk away and Teez Cafe for great coffee, breakfast and a bottle of wine over lunch is the same but in the opposite direction.
Or treat yourself to a Tasmanian fine dinning experience one evening at the nearby Wildside Restaurant with at least four courses of gourmet cuisine and a wine list of over 300.
Clothing, fishing supplies, Tasmanian craft and small luxuries are all available at the Highland Store. Fuel, Internet and telephone are also accessible on the Estate
Endless activities, unique tours, walks, wildlife, pioneering history and wilderness are all on your doorstep. Play golf, squash, use the gym if you have to, go trout fishing, mountain biking, secret lake kayaking, wonder at the stars and spot over 80 different species of birds, all within striking distance of the Estate.
And there is always the risk that you might see one of our resident wombats snuffling around the back door.

Business Facilities
Tasmanian conferences, meetings and incentive travel in the wilderness is a speciality as we have dedicated conference facilities for three to a hundred guests and 300 acres to work and play in.
The ideal venue to exercise the mind, push the body or just chill out.
Tailored itineraries, complete catering, creative options, team-building activities and partner activities. Secretarial services, business centre and conference equipment is all available.
Meet well - please ask us about our conference room and various meeting room options on the Estate. Meeting management can be stressful yet choosing the right meeting location and conference partner can be career enhancing. We have six dedicated meeting venues and with options ranging from The Great Hall to the great outdoors, Tarraleah really can present you with a world of possibilities.
Getting There
We are just off the Lyell Highway almost halfway between Hobart and Strahan. Look out for the giant silver pipes that have tamed once wild rivers and you will be nearly there. They carry pure Tasmanian water as part of our incredible hydro electrical scheme. Please call us if you need any further directions.
Parking Info
On our 300 acre property, plenty of parking is available.
