Holiday In Adelaide Hills

How ‘bout a road trip? We’ll head to a place with rolling hills, national parks, charming villages and all the wine you can drink.

How far from the city is it? Oh, about 20 minutes. The Adelaide Hills is a firm fave among Adelaide’s locals. And with the delish food, refreshing drinks and scenic walking trails, it’s not hard to see why. Book your Adelaide Hills hotel with us and explore the wine’ding (hehe) road just a short drive away.Things to See and DoCraving some craft beer, cider, Pinot Grigio, Shiraz or another delish drink? You’ve come to the right place in the Adelaide Hills. You’ll find wineries high in the hills, hidden in the valleys and in the streets of the villages. You can sit back with a five-star glass of wine, nibble a cheese platter and look out over the Mt. Lofty Ranges. Even if you don’t drink wine, you’ll get a kick out of cruising around the region along tree-lined streets, past villages and vineyards. There’s a craft beer scene in the Hills too, so get on down to a brewery for something crafty and full of flavour.Nature lover? Check out the many public gardens (or private ones that you can explore after making a small fee or donation). Mount Lofty Botanic Garden has ace walking tracks and Piccadilly Valley views. Wittunga Botanic Garden is a beloved picnic spot with a lake and a butterfly garden. Cleland Wildlife Park at Crafers and Gorge Wildlife Park at Cudlee Creek are home to heaps of Aussie animals, like kangaroos, koalas and even Tassie devils. Take one of Cumbungi Sanctuary’s Platypus Eco Tours to see the platypus swimming in its natural habitat.Culture vultures and artsy types have plenty of opportunities for a good time in the Hills. Drop in on “the Cedars”, a cabin the Hahndorf woods where legendary painter Hans Heyson lived and worked. Check out the Hahndorf Academy, a 150-year-old heritage building with galleries, studios, art classes and a migration museum.Shopping and DiningLocal markets and independent stores are what make shopping in the Adelaide Hills so refreshing: Unique clothes and jewellery in Stirling. The Stirling Markets, a tree-lined street market with fashion stalls and yummy food. The main street of Hahndorf, with its antique shops and art galleries. Not to mention the many other smaller markets scattered through the region. In the Adelaide Hills, all kinds of foods – from cheese and chocolate to formal dinners – are made with love…and fresh ingredients! Heaps of the wineries offer delish cheese and pizzas with their refreshing wines. Try some first-class pub food, European cuisine, Tuscan eats, and lovely pizza, or chill out in an organic café.Getting hereIf you’re already inspired, wrap up your Adelaide Hills accommodation and flight with us in the same package… and while you’re here, don’t forget to check out all the cool things to do in Adelaide.
